Welcome to Southern Reels Sport Fishing!
The dream behind Southern Reels Sport Fishing began one evening in the summer of 2016—the same evening my wife took the photo you see here.
I was on a family vacation in the Outer Banks, sitting with my daughter’s pink Zebco and catching Whiting. After a week of fishing and spending time with my family, I couldn’t stop smiling. It was a summer I’ll never forget, and I think that photo says it all. But underneath the smile, I was dreading the return to my usual working life.
I was tired of the same routine and wanted a different way to make a living—one that would let me truly enjoy more of my life. That evening, I realized the change I wanted wouldn’t happen on its own. If I was going to build that life, I had to take responsibility for making it happen.
So I began putting together a long-term plan. My hope was that, one day, I could hang up my tool belt for good and make a living doing what I truly love. There was a lot of work between that evening on vacation and the life I imagined, but I finally had a direction.
It has been a long road, with plenty of dedication, long hours, and very little return in the early days. Every bit of that effort has been part of turning the dream into something real.
